Another piece finally completed in the post holiday "I need more space, dammit" whirlwind, a redesign of one of my earliest characters, La Femme Des Ombres.
Ink & prismacolor marker on custom cut 5x7" cardstock. Beth Knight/Lady of Shadows/Femme Des Ombres & art (c) myself (CK Russell).
I'll be offering a couple of 5x7" commissions on ebay soon - but feel free to contact me before then if you're interested :) Meanwhile there's still a few 9x12" pinups available for crazy low bids.

Another 9x12" piece I've put up for auction on ebay. Bidding is still very low if you'd like to get a rare sized piece of art of my personal favorite character :)
Completed with Ink, prismacolor marker and white paint for effects, on acid free bristol. There's also a Black Queen (benefitting the Treece family) and a Storm up for auction.
i've also made a few additions to my DeviantArt gallery with more sketchcard work and personal stuff.
My friends, Jeremy and Lisa Treece are in need of a hand. They moved with their toddler and infant to California as part of a business deal that disappeared the moment they hit CA soil leaving them scrambling for a place to live. Long story short, they've been stranded without a support network and their escape plan OUT of Cali has been put in jeopardy.
Read Lisa's account on her blog for more details. Jeremy is a FANTASTIC artist with a multitude of comic and sketchcard credits under his belt. He's available for commission, and has a TON of already completed art for sale on his site.
Please consider helping them if you can, even a couple bucks makes a huge difference.

I've put a few auctions on ebay and will be listing more over the weekend. Proceeds from my Black Queen piece will go straight to the Treeces:

It's a 9x12 (which is and will remain an extremely rare size from me, as I really dislike the size and the pain it brings from my shoulders), fully colored ink & prismacolor marker piece on bristol. I'm open for commission as well!

Now with Christmas past I can finally show some of the gifts I've made to brighten some holiday seasons. Both were done on 5x7 inch cardstock, inked, and colored with prismacolor markers. Hal Jordan, Alan Scott, Kyle Rayner and Catwoman are all (c) DC Comics.
In other news 5FINITY's Mandy set (which I've contributed to) has been released... and sold out. Moonstone Maximum was released on Dec 15th and I *think* sets are still available. Sadlittles has released a 5 card "preview" set for Essence of Fairlyand... and with each preview set you get a chance at getting an original sketch by me.
I also still have a number of my convention sketchcard stock available for sale, which can be viewed on this image. Contact me if you'd like to purchase any!

A piece i took with me to Fanexpo '09. Ink, prismacolor marker and color pencil for touchups on 8.5x11" cardstock. It and several other pinups and sketches are currently on ebay.
I'm also selling out my convention sketchcard stock, all of which can be viewed on this image, which is being updated frequently with sold cards. Contact me if you'd like to purchase any!

Lady Lawful and Doctor Developer doing a little role reversal cosplay. A commission for the ASH universe characters written by Andy Burton. 8x11", ink & marker on cardstock.
I survived Fanexpo, but I'm still recovering and catching up from the absolute nonstop crush of people. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see me, bought stuff, and to table neighbors Caanan and Emily Ragozzino for being awesome!

A preview panel from Colt: Old Soliders, one of the projects I've been working on for GravityShift redesign. Inked with sharpies and ballpoint pen.
I'll be at Fanexpo later this week, at table A175. Feel free to stop by and see some of the new convention art!
CK's Gallery has been relaunched with version 6! You can catch an early preview of CK's Sketchbook #4 (Fanexpo '09) on the site.
Drawing like a demon lately, but short on markers. Here's a preview of some upcoming pieces:

Left to right- Black Queen (9x12"), Lord Lawful and Doctor Developress (8x11" commission), and Storm (9x12").

Rogue & Gambit pinup on 9x12", ink and prismacolor marker. This piece and other ares currently for auction on ebay: manga-girl @ ebay

Dawnstar, my favorite Legion of Superheroes character. Done on 9x12" bristol, with ink, prismacolor marker and some white paint for effects. One of quite a few 9x12" pinups I've been working on lately, she'll be listed on ebay soon to help raise funds to replace all these markers I've killed on them. >_>;;

A progression of a twi'lik card made by mMathab during a live drawing webcast (thanks mat!).
I've been drawing lots but neglecting to format picture to upload here (sorry!). Recent stuff I've worked on includes 56 cards for Archie/March of Dimes sketchcard set which landed on June 15th (sold out from 5finity), and 18 pack inserted sketchcards for Sad Littles "Legends & Lore", which goes on sale August 1st, and limited to 1000 sets.
Soon I'll be working on new convention stock and ebay auctions (including a couple of Legends & Lore returns).

Three multi-card commissions from the popular series Supernatural. I can't really claim to be a fan myself, but I admit they have fantastic taste in their soundtrack.
Ink, prismacolor marker and various things for effects on 2.5x3.5" cards.
The first round of cards for Steve's March of Dimes fundraiser have been put up on ebay, including Jacob Black by yours truly. The matching Alice Cullen and a Shadowcat will be following in the near future, as more cards are listed.
Also check out the Archie official sketch card set, with proceeds going to March of Dimes.
If you're Canadian and like the idea but not into donating to American based charities, please consider tossing a donation towards the IWK Health Centre, another establishment quite near and dear to my heart.

And sometimes I draw for gits and shiggles. I got on a DC kick, I expect the next time I'll swing back to Marvel's merry band of mutants, those seem to be my two extremes.
